“happiness in intelligent people is the rarest thing I know”

I think this a by far a sad image, he was one of the smartest people in the world and still is but can’t be what everyone else is “happy” or perceive to be.

aw :( i just want to hug him

You do realize that his depression was spawned from his past involvement in the Manhattan project which led up to the United States using the atomic bomb on Japan. He essentially felt as though he were responsible for all those peoples deaths.

You realize as well how his marriage failed, how he was unable to communicate with other human beings on the most basic of levels? He was locked up in his head. It was a beautiful, vast and wondrous place. But a cage is still a cage, no matter how spacious or decorated it may be. A mind is a great and terrible thing.

It really is quite sad when we look back on a man like Einstein and think, “I wish I was as intelligent as they were.” Though, it reminds me of something Mark twain said about how his view of the Mississippi. How its vast beauty that he’d once seen as a newbie had changed with time and knowledge of how it worked. Once one knows the logical facts behind something, its beauty becomes distorted or even lost. This, in fact, is why Einstein I believe was so depressed. He simply knew the world for what it logically was.

I think the weirdest thing is that the person you’re going to marry and spend the rest of your life together with is currently walking the earth, living their own life, going to school or going to work or whatever, doing all these things and making all these memories that you’ll get to hear about from them years from now.

I believe I’ve always been a big believer in equality. No one has ever been able to tell me I couldn’t do something because I was a girl.
